She that hath:
She that hath had a numerous offspring, Jerusalem, the mother city, the parent of so many cities, villages, and families in the land. "[They that were] fullª have hired out² ° themselves¹ for bread;ª and [they that were] hungryª ceased:ª ° so that¹ the barrenª hath bornª ° seven;ª and she that hath manyª childrenª is waxed feeble.ª °" {1Sm 2:5} + "But these¹ twoª [things] shall comeª ° to thee in a momentª in oneª day,ª the loss of children,ª and widowhood:ª they shall comeª ° upon¹ thee in their perfectionª for the multitudeª of thy sorceries,ª [and] for the greatª abundanceª of thine enchantments.ª" {Isa 47:9} + "How¹ doth the cityª sitª ° solitary,ª [that was] fullª of people!ª [how] is she become¹ as a widow!ª she [that was] greatª among the nations,ª [and] princessª among the provinces,ª [how] is she become¹ tributary!ª" {Lam 1:1} + "The handsª of the pitifulª womenª have soddenª ° their own children:ª they were¹ their meatª ° in the destructionª of the daughterª of my people.ª" {Lam 4:10}

"And it shall come to pass¹ in that¹ day,ª saithª ° the Lordª GOD,ª that I will cause the sunª to go downª ° at noon,ª and I will darkenª ° the earthª in the clearª day:ª ... And I will turnª ° your feastsª into mourning,ª and all¹ your songsª into lamentation;ª and I will bring upª ° sackclothª upon¹ all¹ loins,ª and baldnessª upon¹ every¹ head;ª and I will makeª ° it as the mourningª of an onlyª [son], and the endª thereof as a bitterª day.ª" {Ams 8:9-10}
