The backsliding:
"And I saw,ª ° when¹ for¹ all¹ the causesª whereby¹ backslidingª Israelª committed adulteryª ° I had put her away,ª ° and givenª °¹ her¹ a billª of divorce;ª yet her treacherousª ° sisterª Judahª fearedª ° not,¹ but went² °¹ and played the harlotª ° also.¹" {Jer 3:8} + "Return,ª ° ye backslidingª children,ª [and] I will healª ° your backslidings.ª Behold,¹ we comeª ° unto thee; for¹ thou¹ [art] the LORDª our God.ª" {Jer 3:22} + "For¹ Israelª slideth backª ° as a backslidingª ° heifer:ª now¹ the LORDª will feedª ° them as a lambª in a large place.ª" {Hsa 4:16} + "And my peopleª are bentª ° to backslidingª from me: though they calledª ° them to¹ the most High,ª none at allª ¹ would exaltª ° [him]." {Hsa 11:7}
