the showers:

a whore's:
"O LORD,ª [are] not¹ thine eyesª upon the truth?ª thou hast strickenª ° them, but they have not¹ grieved;ª ° thou hast consumedª ° them, [but] they have refusedª ° to receiveª ° correction:ª they have made their facesª harderª ° than a rock;ª ¹ they have refusedª ° to return.ª °" {Jer 5:3} + "Were they ashamed² °¹ when¹ they had committedª ° abomination?ª nay,ª they were not¹ at all² ° ashamed,ª ° neither² ¹ couldª ° they blush:ª ° therefore¹ they shall fallª ° among them that fall:ª ° at the timeª [that] I visitª ° them they shall be cast down,ª ° saithª ° the LORD.ª" {Jer 6:15} + "Were they ashamed² °¹ when¹ they had committedª ° abomination?ª nay,¹ they were not¹ at all² ° ashamed,ª ° neither¹ couldª ° they blush:ª ° therefore¹ shall they fallª ° among them that fall:ª ° in the timeª of their visitationª they shall be cast down,ª ° saithª ° the LORD.ª" {Jer 8:12} + "[As for] the wordª that¹ thou hast spokenª ° unto¹ us in the nameª of the LORD,ª we will not¹ hearkenª ° unto¹ thee. ... thou refusedst:
