- they shall:
- Babylon was replenished from all nations, by a concourse of people, whom Jeremiah ("A swordª [is] upon¹ their horses,ª and upon¹ their chariots,ª and upon¹ all¹ the mingled people²¹ that¹ [are] in the midstª of her; and they shall become¹ as women:ª a swordª [is] upon¹ her treasures;ª and they shall be robbed.ª°" {Jer 50:37}) calls "the mingled people." All these, at the approach of Cyrus, sought to escape to their several countries. "Flee¹ out²° of the midstª¹ of Babylon,ª and deliverª° every manª his soul:ª be not¹ cut offª° in her iniquity;ª for¹ this¹ [is] the timeª of the LORD'Sª vengeance;ª he will renderª° unto her a recompence.ª ... We would have healedª°¹ Babylon,ª but she is not¹ healed:ª° forsakeª° her, and let us go²°¹ every oneª into his own country:ª for¹ her judgmentª reachethª° unto¹ heaven,ª and is lifted upª° [even] to¹ the skies.ª" {Jer 51:6-9} + "The¹ merchantsª of these things,ª which² were made richª° byª her,ª shall standª° afar² offª¹ forª the¹ fearª of her²¹ torment,ª weepingª° andª wailing,ª° ... Forª in oneª hourª so greatª richesª is come to nought.ª° Andª everyª shipmaster,ª andª allª the¹ companyª inª ships,ª andª sailors,ª andª as many asª tradeª° by sea,ª stoodª° afar² off,ª¹" {Rev 18:15-17}
