{Isaiah 38:9} The writing 4385 of Hezekiah 2396 king 4428 of Judah, 3063 when he had been sick, 2470 z8800 and was recovered 2421 z8799 of his sickness: 2483 x4480
writing:
"And in that¹ dayª thou shalt say,ª° O LORD,ª I will praiseª° thee: though¹ thou wast angryª° with me, thine angerª is turned away,ª° and thou comfortedstª° me. ... Cry outª° and shout,ª° thou inhabitantª° of Zion:ª for¹ greatª [is] the Holy Oneª of Israelª in the midstª of thee." {Isa 12:1-6} + "Then¹ sangª° Mosesª and the childrenª of Israelª¹ this¹ songª unto the LORD,ª and spake,ª° saying,ª° I will singª° unto the LORD,ª for¹ he hath triumphed²° gloriously:ª° the horseª and his riderª° hath he thrownª° into the sea.ª ... And Miriamª answeredª° them, Singª° ye to the LORD,ª for¹ he hath triumphed²° gloriously;ª° the horseª and his riderª° hath he thrownª° into the sea.ª" {Exd 15:1-21} + "Then sangª° Deborahª and Barakª the sonª of Abinoamª on that¹ day,ª saying,ª° ... So¹ let all¹ thine enemiesª° perish,ª° O LORD:ª but [let] them that loveª° him [be] as the sunª when he goeth forthª° in his might.ª And the landª had restª° fortyª years.ª" {Jdg 5:1-31} + "And Hannahª prayed,ª° and said,ª° My heartª rejoicethª° in the LORD,ª mine hornª is exaltedª° in the LORD:ª my mouthª is enlargedª° over¹ mine enemies;ª° because¹ I rejoiceª° in thy salvation.ª ... The adversariesª° of the LORDª shall be broken to pieces;ª° out of heavenª shall he thunderª° upon¹ them: the LORDª shall judgeª° the endsª of the earth;ª and he shall giveª° strengthª unto his king,ª and exaltª° the hornª of his anointed.ª" {1Sm 2:1-10} + "[[To the chief Musician,ª° [A Psalm] of David,ª the servantª of the LORD,ª who¹ spakeª° unto the LORDª¹ the wordsª of this¹ songª in the dayª [that] the LORDª deliveredª° him from the handª¹ of all¹ his enemies,ª° and from the handª¹ of Saul:ª And he said,]]ª° I will loveª° thee, O LORD,ª my strength.ª" {Psa 18:1} *title "Thou hast turnedª° for me my mourningª into dancing:ª thou hast put offª° my sackcloth,ª and girdedª° me with gladness;ª ... To the end that¹ [my] gloryª may sing²° praise¹ to thee, and not¹ be silent.ª° O LORDª my God,ª I will give thanksª° unto thee for ever.ª" {Psa 30:11-12} + "Foolsª becauseª¹ of their transgression,ª and because of their iniquities,ª¹ are afflicted.ª° ... Openª° to me the gatesª of righteousness:ª I will goª° into them, [and] I will praiseª° the LORD:ª" {Psa 118:18-19} + "Then Jonahª prayedª° unto¹ the LORDª his Godª out of the fish'sª belly,ª¹ ... But I¹ will sacrificeª° unto thee with the voiceª of thanksgiving;ª I will payª° [that] that¹ I have vowed.ª° Salvationª [is] of the LORD.ª" {Jna 2:1-9}
he had:
"Seeª° now¹ that¹ I,¹ [even] I,¹ [am] he,¹ and [there is] no¹ godª with¹ me: I¹ kill,ª° and I make alive;ª° I wound,ª° and I¹ heal:ª° neither¹ [is there any] that can deliverª° out of my hand.ª¹" {Deu 32:39} + "The LORDª killeth,ª° and maketh alive:ª° he bringeth downª° to the grave,ª and bringeth up.ª°" {1Sm 2:6} + "For¹ he¹ maketh sore,ª° and bindeth up:ª° he woundeth,ª° and his handsª make whole.ª°" {Job 5:18} + "Come,²°¹ and let us returnª° unto¹ the LORD:ª for¹ he¹ hath torn,ª° and he will healª° us; he hath smitten,ª° and he will bind us up.ª° ... After two daysª¹ will he reviveª° us: in the thirdª dayª he will raise us up,ª° and we shall liveª° in his sight.ª" {Hsa 6:1-2}; We have here Hezekiah's thanksgiving song, which he penned by Divine direction, after his recovery. He might have used some of the Psalms of David his father, as he had appointed the Levites to praise the Lord with the words of David, "Moreover Hezekiahª the kingª and the princesª commandedª° the Levitesª to sing praiseª° unto the LORDª with the wordsª of David,ª and of Asaphª the seer.ª And they sang praisesª° with¹ gladness,ª and they bowed their headsª° and worshipped.ª°" {2Ch 29:30}, but the occasion here was extraordinary. His heart being full of devout affections, he would not confine himself to the compositions he had, though of Divine inspiration, but offered up his praises in his own words. The Lord put a new song into his mouth. He put his thanksgiving into writing, that he might review it himself afterwards, for the reviving of the good impressions made upon him by the providential interference, and that it might be recommended to others also for their use upon the like occasion. "Moreover Hezekiahª the kingª and the princesª commandedª° the Levitesª to sing praiseª° unto the LORDª with the wordsª of David,ª and of Asaphª the seer.ª And they sang praisesª° with¹ gladness,ª and they bowed their headsª° and worshipped.ª°" {2Ch 29:30}
