the gods:
"Who¹ [are they] among all¹ the godsª of these¹ lands,ª that¹ have deliveredª °¹ their landª out of my hand,ª ¹ that¹ the LORDª should deliverª °¹ Jerusalemª out of my hand?ª ¹" {Isa 36:20} + "To whom¹ will ye likenª ° me, and make [me] equal,ª ° and compareª ° me, that we may be like?ª ° ... They bearª ° him upon¹ the shoulder,ª they carryª ° him, and set¹ him in his place,² °¹ and he standeth;ª ° from his placeª ¹ shall he not¹ remove:ª ° yea,¹ [one] shall cryª ° unto¹ him, yet can he not¹ answer,ª ° nor¹ saveª ° him out of his trouble.ª ¹" {Isa 46:5-7}

Gozan:

Haran:
Haran, the Carrhe of the Greeks and Romans, is situated in the north-west part of Mesopotamia, between the Euphrates and the river Chebar; about 110 miles west of Nisibis, 90 east of Bir, 100 south of Diarbekir, and 170 north of Palmyra. Eden:
It is probable that this Eden is the country near Diarbekir, on the Tigris, called Madon, according to Asseman. "And the LORDª Godª plantedª ° a gardenª eastwardª ¹ in Eden;ª and thereª he putª °¹ the manª whomª he had formed.ª °" {Gen 2:8} + "Haran,ª and Canneh,ª and Eden,ª the merchantsª ° of Sheba,ª Asshur,ª [and] Chilmad,ª [were] thy merchants.ª °" {Ezk 27:23} + "Thou hast been¹ in Edenª the gardenª of God;ª every¹ preciousª stoneª [was] thy covering,ª the sardius,ª topaz,ª and the diamond,ª the beryl,ª the onyx,ª and the jasper,ª the sapphire,ª the emerald,ª and the carbuncle,ª and gold:ª the workmanshipª of thy tabretsª and of thy pipesª was preparedª ° in thee in the dayª that thou wast created.ª °" {Ezk 28:13} + "I will breakª ° also the barª of Damascus,ª and cut offª ° the inhabitantª ° from the plainª ¹ of Aven,ª and him that holdethª ° the sceptreª from the house² of Eden:ª ² °¹ and the peopleª of Syriaª shall go into captivityª ° unto Kir,ª saithª ° the LORD.ª" {Ams 1:5}

Telassar:
Telassar is probably the same as Ellasar, "And it came to pass¹ in the daysª of Amraphelª kingª of Shinar,ª Ariochª kingª of Ellasar,ª Chedorlaomerª kingª of Elam,ª and Tidalª kingª of nations;ª" {Gen 14:1}, as the Jerusalem Targum reads; for both of which the Syriac has Dolassar; and perhaps, as Doederlein supposes, the same as Sharra, a city of Mesopotamia, half a mile from the Euphrates. "Have the godsª of the nationsª deliveredª ° them which¹ my fathersª have destroyed;ª ° [as]¹ Gozan,ª and Haran,ª and Rezeph,ª and the childrenª of Edenª which¹ [were] in Thelasar?ª" {2Kg 19:12}, Thelasar
