the vineyard:
"Thou hast broughtª ° a vineª out of Egypt:ª ¹ thou hast cast outª ° the heathen,ª and plantedª ° it. ... She sent outª ° her boughsª unto¹ the sea,ª and her branchesª unto¹ the river.ª" {Psa 80:8-11} + "And the vineyardª ² ° which¹ thy right handª hath planted,ª ° and the branchª [that] thou madest strongª ° for thyself." {Psa 80:15} + "Manyª pastorsª ° have destroyedª ° my vineyard,ª they have trodden² ° my portion² under foot,ª °¹ ¹ they have madeª °¹ my pleasantª portionª a desolateª wilderness.ª" {Jer 12:10}

The paronomasia, or play of words, is very remarkable here: he looked for mishpat "judgment," but behold mispach "oppression;" for tzedakah "justice," but behold tzedkah "a cry."

oppression:
Heb. a scab, "From the soleª ¹ of the footª even unto¹ the headª [there is] no¹ soundnessª in it; [but] wounds,ª and bruises,ª and putrifyingª sores:ª they have not¹ been closed,ª ° neither¹ bound up,ª ° neither¹ mollifiedª ° with ointment.ª" {Isa 1:6} + "Therefore the Lordª will smite with a scabª ° the crown of the headª of the daughtersª of Zion,ª and the LORDª will discoverª ° their secret parts.ª" {Isa 3:17}

a cry:
