captain:
"Moreover thou¹ shalt provideª ° out of all¹ ¹ the peopleª ableª men,² ¹ such as fearª God,ª men² ¹ of truth,ª hatingª ° covetousness;ª and placeª ° [such] over¹ them, [to be] rulersª of thousands,ª [and] rulersª of hundreds,ª rulersª of fifties,ª and rulersª of tens:ª" {Exd 18:21} + "So I tookª °¹ the chiefª of your tribes,ª wiseª men,² ¹ and known,ª ° and madeª ° them headsª over¹ you, captainsª over thousands,ª and captainsª over hundreds,ª and captainsª over fifties,ª and captainsª over tens,ª and officersª ° among your tribes.ª" {Deu 1:15} + "And he will appointª ° him captainsª over thousands,ª and captainsª over fifties;ª and [will set them] to earª ° his ground,ª and to reapª ° his harvest,ª and to makeª ° his instrumentsª of war,ª and instrumentsª of his chariots.ª" {1Sm 8:12}

the honourable man:
Heb. a man eminent in countenance, "Then saidª ° he unto¹ Zebahª and Zalmunna,ª What² manner¹ of men² ¹ [were they] whom¹ ye slewª ° at Tabor?ª And they answered,ª ° As thouª [art], so [were] they; each oneª resembledª the childrenª of a king.ª" {Jdg 8:18}

eloquent orator:
or, skilful of speech, "And Mosesª saidª ° unto¹ the LORD,ª Oª my Lord,ª I² ¹ [am] not¹ eloquent,ª ¹ neither¹ heretofore,ª ª ª ¹ nor¹ sinceª ¹ thou hast spokenª ° unto¹ thy servant:ª but¹ I¹ [am] slowª of speech,ª and of a slowª tongue.ª" {Exd 4:10} + "And the angerª of the LORDª was kindledª ° against Moses,ª and he said,ª ° [Is] not¹ Aaronª the Leviteª thy brother?ª I knowª ° that¹ he¹ can speak² ° well.ª ° And also,¹ behold,¹ he¹ cometh forthª ° to meetª ° thee: and when he seethª ° thee, he will be gladª ° in his heart.ª ...
