wise:
"A wiseª [man] will hear,ª ° and will increaseª ° learning;ª and a man of understandingª ° shall attainª ° unto wise counsels:ª" {Prv 1:5} + "Giveª ° [instruction] to a wiseª [man], and he will be yet¹ wiser:ª ° teachª ° a justª [man], and he will increaseª ° in learning.ª" {Prv 9:9} + "Whoso lovethª ° instructionª lovethª ° knowledge:ª but he that hatethª ° reproofª [is] brutish.ª" {Prv 12:1} + "The wisdomª of the prudentª [is] to understandª ° his way:ª but the follyª of foolsª [is] deceit.ª" {Prv 14:8} + "Give me understanding,ª ° and I shall keepª ° thy law;ª yea, I shall observeª ° it with [my] whole¹ heart.ª" {Psa 119:34} + "Whoª [is] a wise manª andª endued with knowledgeª amongª you?ª let him shewª ° out ofª a goodª conversationª his² ¹ worksª withª meeknessª of wisdom.ª" {Jms 3:13}

but:
"He that winkethª ° with the eyeª causethª ° sorrow:ª but a pratingª foolª shall fall.ª °" {Prv 10:10} + "The wickedª is snaredª by the transgressionª of [his] lips:ª but the justª shall come outª ° of trouble.ª ¹" {Prv 12:13} + "He that keepethª ° his mouthª keepethª ° his life:ª [but] he that openeth wideª ° his lipsª shall have destruction.ª" {Prv 13:3} + "In all¹ labourª there is¹ profit:ª but the talkª of the lipsª [tendeth] only¹ to penury.ª" {Prv 14:23}

prating fool:
Heb. a fool of lips, "The wordsª of a wise man'sª mouthª [are] gracious;ª but the lipsª of a foolª will swallow upª ° himself." {Ecc 10:12}

fall:
or, be beaten, "A fool'sª lipsª enterª ° into contention,ª and his mouthª callethª ° for strokes.ª ... A fool'sª mouthª [is] his destruction,ª and his lipsª [are] the snareª of his soul.ª" {Prv 18:6-7}
