{Psalms 107:39} Again, they are minished 4591 z8799 and brought low 7817 z8799 through oppression, 6115 x4480 affliction, 7451 and sorrow. 3015

Again:
The incidents detailed in these verses, which frequently occur, and mark the superintendence of a benign Providence, and the hand of a just God, appear to be brought forward to illustrate the return of the Israelites from captivity, and the punishment of their oppressors the Babylonians. Wherefore, at last, as in a common chorus, they conclude with exhorting each other to a serious consideration of these things, and to make a proper return to the Almighty.

they are:
"And in my prosperityª I¹ said,ª ° I shall neverª ¹ be moved.ª ° ... LORD,ª by thy favourª thou hast made my mountainª to standª ° strong:ª thou didst hideª ° thy face,ª [and] I was¹ troubled.ª °" {Psa 30:6-7} + "And there¹ will I nourishª ° thee; for¹ yet¹ [there are] fiveª yearsª of famine;ª lest¹ thou,¹ and thy household,ª and all¹ that¹ thou hast, come to poverty.ª °" {Gen 45:11} + "And she saidª ° unto¹ them, Callª ° me not¹ Naomi,ª callª ° me Mara:ª for¹ the Almightyª hath dealt very² bitterlyª °¹ with me. ... oppression:
"And the Egyptiansª made² °¹ the childrenª of Israelª to serveª ° with rigour:ª ... And they made² °¹ their livesª bitterª ° with hardª bondage,ª in morter,ª and in brick,ª and in all manner¹ of serviceª in the field:ª ¹ all¹ their service,ª wherein¹ they made them serve,ª ° [was] with rigour.ª" {Exd 1:13-14} + "And it came to pass¹ in process² ² of time,ª ¹ ¹ that the kingª of Egyptª died:ª ° and the childrenª of Israelª sighedª ° by reason ofª the bondage,ª and they cried,ª ° and their cryª came upª ° unto¹ Godª by reason of¹ the bondage.ª ...
