Let destruction:
All the verbs in these verses ("Let them be confoundedª° and put to shameª° that seek²° after¹ my soul:ª let them be turnedª° backª and brought to confusionª° that deviseª° my hurt.ª ... Let destructionª come²° upon¹ him at unawares;ªª° and let his netª that¹ he hath hidª° catchª° himself: into that very destructionª let him fall.ª°" {Psa 35:4-8}), in the original, are in the future tense, as a prediction, and should probably be so rendered; though as that tense is frequently used in Hebrew for the imperative, most translators, both ancient and modern, have considered them as an imprecation. "But Godª shall shootª° at them [with] an arrow;ª suddenlyª shall they be¹ wounded.ª" {Psa 64:7} + "Surely¹ thou didst setª° them in slippery places:ª thou castedst them downª° into destruction.ª ...
