- thy holy oracle:
- or, the oracle of thy sanctuary, "But as for me,¹ I will comeª° [into] thy houseª in the multitudeª of thy mercy:ª [and] in thy fearª will I worshipª° toward¹ thy holyª temple.ª" {Psa 5:7} + "I will worshipª° toward¹ thy holyª temple,ª and praiseª°¹ thy nameª for¹ thy lovingkindnessª and for¹ thy truth:ª for¹ thou hast magnifiedª° thy wordª above¹ all¹ thy name.ª" {Psa 138:2} + "And the oracleª he preparedª° in² the houseª¹ within,ª¹ to setª° there¹¹ the arkª of the covenantª of the LORD.ª" {1Kg 6:19} + "And the whole¹ houseª he overlaidª° with gold,ª until¹ he had finishedª° all¹ the house:ª also the whole¹ altarª that¹ [was] by the oracleª he overlaidª° with gold.ª ... And they drew outª° the staves,ª that the endsª of the stavesª were seen¹ out²°¹ in the holyª [place] beforeª¹ the oracle,ª and they were not¹ seenª° without:ª and there¹ they are¹ unto¹ this¹ day.ª" {1Kg 8:6-8} + "Yet have thou respectª° unto¹ the prayerª of thy servant,ª and to¹ his supplication,ª O LORDª my God,ª to hearkenª° unto¹ the cryª and to¹ the prayer,ª which¹ thy servantª prayethª° beforeª thee to day:ª ... And hearkenª° thou to¹ the supplicationª of thy servant,ª and of thy peopleª Israel,ª when¹ they shall prayª° toward¹ this¹ place:ª and hearª° thou¹ in¹ heavenª thy dwellingª° place:ª and when thou hearest,ª° forgive.ª°" {1Kg 8:28-30} + "What¹ prayerª and supplicationª soever¹¹ be¹ [made] by any¹ man,ª [or] by all¹ thy peopleª Israel,ª which¹ shall knowª° every manª the plagueª of his own heart,ª and spread forthª° his handsª toward¹ this¹ house:ª" {1Kg 8:38} + "Now when¹ Danielª knewª° that¹ the writingª was signed,ª° he wentª° into his house;ª and his windowsª being openª° in his chamberª towardª Jerusalem,ª he¹ kneeledª° uponª his kneesª threeª timesª a day,ª and prayed,ª° and gave thanksª° beforeª his God,ª asªª¹ he didªª°° aforetime.ªªª" {Dan 6:10}
