{Job 16:8} And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, 7059 z8799 [which] is x1961 a witness 5707 [against me]: and my leanness 3585 rising up 6965 z8799 in me beareth witness 6030 z8799 to my face. 6440

And thou hast:
etc. Some render, "thou has fettered me," as kamat signifies in Arabic; but as it signifies in Syriac to be wrinkled, the common version seems, from the connexion, to be more correct; and if Job's disease were the elephantiasis, these words would apply most forcibly to the wrinkled state of the skin in that disorder.

is a witness:

my leanness:
"And he gaveª ° them their request;ª but sentª ° leannessª into their soul.ª" {Psa 106:15} + "Therefore¹ shall the Lord,ª the Lordª ² ° of hosts,ª sendª ° among his fat onesª leanness;ª and under¹ his gloryª he shall kindleª ° a burningª like the burning¹ of a fire.ª" {Isa 10:16} + "From the uttermost partª ¹ of the earthª have we heardª ° songs,ª [even] gloryª to the righteous.ª But I said,ª ° My leanness,ª my leanness,ª woeª unto me! the treacherous dealersª ° have dealt treacherously;ª ° yea, the treacherous dealersª ° have dealt very² treacherously.ª °¹" {Isa 24:16}
