The waters:
Hence the proverb, "Constant droppings make a hole in a stone."

washest:
Heb. overflowest, "And, behold,ª I,² even I,¹ do bringª °¹ a floodª of watersª upon¹ the earth,ª to destroyª ° all¹ flesh,ª wherein¹ [is] the breathª of life,ª from underª ¹ heaven;ª [and] every thingª that¹ [is] in the earthª shall die.ª °" {Gen 6:17} + "And all¹ fleshª diedª ° that movedª ° upon¹ the earth,ª both of fowl,ª and of cattle,ª and of beast,ª and of every¹ creeping thingª that creepethª ° upon¹ the earth,ª and every¹ man:ª ... destroyest:
