{Esther 2:5} [Now] in Shushan 7800 the palace 1002 there was x1961 a certain 376 Jew, 3064 whose name 8034 [was] Mordecai, 4782 the son 1121 of Jair, 2971 the son 1121 of Shimei, 8096 the son 1121 of Kish, 7027 a Benjamite; 1145

Shushan:
"And let the kingª appointª ° officersª in all¹ the provincesª of his kingdom,ª that they may gather togetherª °¹ all¹ the fairª ª youngª virginsª unto¹ Shushanª the palace,ª to¹ the houseª of the women,ª unto¹ the custodyª of Hegeª the king'sª chamberlain,ª keeperª ° of the women;ª and let their things for purificationª be givenª ° [them]:" {Est 2:3} + "[That] in those¹ days,ª when the kingª Ahasuerusª satª ° on¹ the throneª of his kingdom,ª which¹ [was] in Shushanª the palace,ª" {Est 1:2} + "Now it came to pass¹ on the thirdª day,ª that Estherª put onª ° [her] royalª [apparel], and stoodª ° in the innerª courtª of the king'sª house,ª over againstª the king'sª house:ª and the kingª satª ° upon¹ his royalª throneª in the royalª house,ª over againstª the gateª of the house.ª" {Est 5:1}

a certain Jew:
"And all¹ the king'sª servants,ª that¹ [were] in the king'sª gate,ª bowed,ª ° and reverencedª ° Haman:ª for¹ the kingª had so¹ commandedª ° concerning him. But Mordecaiª bowedª ° not,¹ nor¹ did [him] reverence.ª ° ... And he thoughtª scornª ° to layª ° handsª on Mordecaiª alone;¹ for¹ they had shewedª ° him¹ the peopleª of Mordecai:ª wherefore Hamanª soughtª ° to destroyª °¹ all¹ the Jewsª that¹ [were] throughout the whole¹ kingdomª of Ahasuerus,ª [even] the peopleª of Mordecai.ª" {Est 3:2-6} + "For¹ Mordecaiª the Jewª [was] nextª unto kingª Ahasuerus,ª and greatª among the Jews,ª and acceptedª ° of the multitudeª of his brethren,ª seekingª ° the wealthª of his people,ª and speakingª ° peaceª to all¹ his seed.ª" {Est 10:3}

the son of Shimei:
"Now there was¹ a manª of Benjamin,ª ¹ whose nameª [was] Kish,ª the sonª of Abiel,ª the sonª of Zeror,ª the sonª of Bechorath,ª the sonª of Aphiah,ª a Benjamite,ª a mighty² man² ¹ of power.ª" {1Sm 9:1} + "And when kingª Davidª cameª ° to¹ Bahurim,ª behold,¹ thence¹ ¹ came outª ° a manª of the familyª ¹ of the houseª of Saul,ª whose nameª [was] Shimei,ª the sonª of Gera:ª he came forth,ª ° and cursedª ° still as he came.ª °" {2Sm 16:5}
