{Ezra 8:17} And I sent y6680 z8762 them with commandment y3318 z8686 x6680 x853 unto x5921 Iddo 112 the chief 7218 at the place 4725 Casiphia, 3703 and I told 7760 6310 z8799 them what 1697 they should say 1696 z8763 unto x413 Iddo, 112 [and] to his brethren 251 the Nethinims, 5411 z8675 at the place 4725 Casiphia, 3703 that they should bring 935 z8687 unto us ministers 8334 z8764 for the house 1004 of our God. 430

Casiphia:
Casiphia is supposed to denote the Caspian mountains, between Media and Hyrcania, near the Caspian Sea. It is evident, from a comparison of "For¹ upon the firstª [day] of the firstª monthª beganª he¹ to go upª from Babylon,ª ¹ and on the firstª [day] of the fifthª monthª cameª ° he to¹ Jerusalem,ª according to the goodª handª of his Godª upon¹ him." {Ezr 7:9} with "Then we departedª ° from the riverª ¹ of Ahavaª on the twelfthª ª [day] of the firstª month,ª to go² °¹ unto Jerusalem:ª and the handª of our Godª was¹ upon¹ us, and he deliveredª ° us from the handª ¹ of the enemy,ª ° and of such as lay in waitª ° by¹ the way.ª" {Ezr 8:31}, that Casiphia could not be far from Ahava.

I told them:
Heb. the Nethinims:
"The Nethinims:ª the childrenª of Ziha,ª the childrenª of Hasupha,ª the childrenª of Tabbaoth,ª" {Ezr 2:43} + "All¹ the Nethinims,ª and the childrenª of Solomon'sª servants,ª [were] threeª hundredª ninetyª and two.ª" {Ezr 2:58} + "And there went upª ° [some] of the childrenª ¹ of Israel,ª and of¹ the priests,ª and the Levites,ª and the singers,ª ° and the porters,ª and the Nethinims,ª unto¹ Jerusalem,ª in the seventhª yearª of Artaxerxesª the king.ª" {Ezr 7:7}

ministers:
