- strengthened their hands:
- that is, helped them, "And to carryª° the silverª and gold,ª which¹ the kingª and his counsellorsª° have freely offeredª° unto the Godª of Israel,ª whoseª habitationª [is] in Jerusalem,ª ... And allª the silverª and goldª that¹ thou canst findª° in allª the provinceª of Babylon,ª withª the freewill offeringª° of the people,²¹ and of the priests,ª offering willinglyª° for the houseª of their Godª which¹ [is] in Jerusalem:ª" {Ezr 7:15-16} + "And weighedª° unto them¹ the silver,ª and the gold,ª and the vessels,ª [even] the offeringª of the houseª of our God,ª which the king,ª and his counsellors,ª° and his lords,ª and all¹ Israelª [there] present,ª° had offered:ª° ...
