{2 Chronicles 35:4} And prepare 3559 z8685 z8675 z8734 [yourselves] by the houses 1004 of your fathers, 1 after your courses, 4256 according to the writing 3791 of David 1732 king 4428 of Israel, 3478 and according to the writing 4385 of Solomon 8010 his son. 1121

the houses:
"And of¹ the priests;ª Jedaiah,ª and Jehoiarib,ª and Jachin,ª ... These¹ chiefª fathersª of the Levitesª [were] chiefª throughout their generations;ª these¹ dweltª ° at Jerusalem.ª" {1Ch 9:10-34} + "Of¹ the priests:ª Jedaiahª the sonª of Joiarib,ª Jachin.ª ... And the residueª of Israel,ª of the priests,ª [and] the Levites,ª [were] in all¹ the citiesª of Judah,ª every oneª in his inheritance.ª" {Neh 11:10-20}

after your courses:
The regulations formed by David, and established by Solomon, concerning the courses of the priests and Levites, were committed to writing, and preserved, for them to refer to continually. Josiah, as well as Hezekiah, required the priests and Levites to attend to their several duties, and encouraged them therein, but he neither added, altered, not retrenched anything. He merely enforced what had been established in the law, and in the regulations made by David and the contemporary prophets: "the commandment of the king....was by the word of the Lord." "So when Davidª was oldª ° and fullª ° of days,ª he made¹ ¹ Solomonª his sonª king² ° over¹ Israel.ª ... And his brethren,ª menª of valour,ª [were] two thousandª and sevenª hundredª chiefª fathers,ª whom kingª Davidª made rulersª ° over¹ the Reubenites,ª the Gadites,ª and the halfª tribeª of Manasseh,ª for every¹ matterª pertaining to God,ª and affairsª of the king.ª" {1Ch 23:1-26:32}

and according:
"And he appointed,ª ° according to the orderª of Davidª his father,ª ¹ the coursesª of the priestsª to¹ their service,ª and the Levitesª to¹ their charges,ª to praiseª ° and ministerª ° before¹ the priests,ª as the dutyª of every day² required:ª the portersª also by their coursesª at every gate:ª for¹ so¹ had Davidª the manª of Godª commanded.ª" {2Ch 8:14}
