{2 Chronicles 32:30} This same x1931 Hezekiah 3169 also stopped 5640 z8804 x853 the upper 5945 watercourse 4161 4325 of Gihon, 1521 and brought it straight 3474 z8762 down 4295 to the west side 4628 of the city 5892 of David. 1732 And Hezekiah 3169 prospered 6743 z8686 in all x3605 his works. 4639

Hezekiah:
Or, "Hezekiah stopped the upper going out (motza, i.e., the egress into the open air), of the waters of Gihon, and brought them underneath (lemattah, by a subterraneous course), to the west of the city of David." See note on "And Zadokª the priestª and Nathanª the prophetª have anointedª ° him kingª in Gihon:ª and they are come upª ° from thence¹ ¹ rejoicing,ª so that the cityª rang¹ again.² ° This¹ [is] the noiseª that¹ ye have heard.ª °" {1Kg 1:45}.

"So there was gatheredª ° muchª peopleª together,² ° who stoppedª °¹ all¹ the fountains,ª and the brookª that ranª ° through the midstª of the land,ª saying,ª ° Why¹ should the kingsª of Assyriaª come,ª ° and findª ° muchª water?ª" {2Ch 32:4} + "Ye have seenª ° also the breachesª of the cityª of David,ª that¹ they are many:ª ° and ye gathered togetherª °¹ the watersª of the lowerª pool.ª ... Gihon:

"Only¹ be thou strongª ° and veryª courageous,ª ° that thou mayest observeª ° to doª ° according to all¹ the law,ª which¹ Mosesª my servantª commandedª ° thee: turnª ° not¹ from¹ it [to] the right handª or [to] the left,ª that¹ thou mayest prosperª ° whithersoever¹ ¹ thou goest.² °¹ ...
