Heb. smitten, "Wherefore the LORDª his Godª deliveredª ° him into the handª of the kingª of Syria;ª and they smoteª ° him, and carried awayª ° a great¹ multitude² of¹ them captives,ª and broughtª ° [them] to Damascus.ª And he was also¹ deliveredª ° into the handª of the kingª of Israel,ª who smoteª ° him with a greatª slaughter.ª ... For Pekahª the sonª of Remaliahª slewª ° in Judahª an hundredª and twentyª thousandª in oneª day,ª [which were] all¹ valiant² men;ª ¹ because they had forsakenª °¹ the LORDª Godª of their fathers.ª" {2Ch 28:5-6}
