great diseases:
"Moreover the LORDª stirred upª ° against¹ Jehoramª ¹ the spiritª of the Philistines,ª and of the Arabians,ª that¹ [were] nearª ª the Ethiopians:ª" {2Ch 21:16} + "And afterª all¹ this¹ the LORDª smoteª ° him in his bowelsª with an incurableª ª disease.ª ... Houbigant reads, "the sons of Jehoiada;" but perhaps Joash slew some other sons of Jehoiada.
