In the parallel passage (see note on "Twoª and twentyª yearsª oldª [was] Ahaziahª when he began to reign;ª° and he reignedª°oneª yearª in Jerusalem.ª And his mother'sª nameª [was] Athaliah,ª the daughterª of Omriª kingª of Israel.ª" {2Kg 8:26}) he is said to be only twenty-two; and this is doubtless the true reading, as it is supported here by several manuscripts and versions.
Athaliah:
"And he walked²°¹in the wayª of the kingsª of Israel,ª like as¹ didª° the houseª of Ahab:ª for¹he had¹ the daughterª of Ahabª to wife:ª and he wroughtª° [that which was] evilª in the eyesª of the LORD.ª" {2Ch 21:6}+"So Omriª sleptª° with¹ his fathers,ª and was buriedª° in Samaria:ª and Ahabª his sonª reignedª° in his stead.¹" {1Kg 16:28}
