by disease:
This is supposed to have been a violent dysentery, a disease which is often attended with symptoms similar to those described in the text; by the same death perished Antiochus Ephiphenes, and Herod Agrippa. "And afterª all¹ this¹ the LORDª smoteª ° him in his bowelsª with an incurableª ª disease.ª ... And it came to pass,¹ that in process of time,ª ¹ after² °² the endª ¹ ¹ of twoª years,ª his bowelsª fell outª ° by reason² of¹ his sickness:ª so he diedª ° of soreª diseases.ª And his peopleª madeª ° no¹ burningª for him, like the burningª of his fathers.ª" {2Ch 21:18-19} + "And when he hath made her to drinkª °¹ the water,ª then it shall come to pass,¹ [that], if¹ she be defiled,ª ° and have doneª ° trespassª against her husband,ª that the waterª that causeth the curseª ° shall enterª ° into her, [and become] bitter,ª and her bellyª shall swell,ª ° and her thighª shall rot:ª ° and the womanª shall be¹ a curseª amongª her people.ª" {Num 5:27} + "Also¹ every¹ sickness,ª and every¹ plague,ª which¹ [is] not¹ writtenª ° in the bookª of this¹ law,ª them will the LORDª bringª ° upon¹ thee, until¹ thou be destroyed.ª °" {Deu 28:61} + "Andª immediatelyª the angelª of the Lordª smoteª ° him,ª becauseª ª he gaveª ° notª Godª the¹ glory:ª andª he wasª ° eaten of worms,ª and gave up the ghost.ª °" {Act 12:23}

thy bowels fall:
"As he clothedª ° himself with cursingª like as with his garment,ª so let it comeª ° into his bowelsª like water,ª and like oilª into his bones.ª" {Psa 109:18} + "Nowª ² this manª ¹ purchasedª ° a fieldª withª the¹ rewardª of iniquity;ª andª fallingª ° headlong,ª he burst asunderª ° in the midst,ª andª allª hisª bowelsª gushed out.ª °" {Act 1:18}

the sickness:
