Gershonites:
"And these¹ [be] the namesª of the sonsª of Gershom;² ¹ Libni,ª and Shimei.ª ... Of Gershom;² ¹ Libniª his son,ª Jahathª his son,ª Zimmahª his son,ª" {1Ch 6:17-20} + "Of the sonsª of Gershom;² ¹ Joelª the chief,ª and his brethrenª an hundredª and thirty:ª" {1Ch 15:7} + "[As concerning] the sonsª of Laadan;ª the sonsª of the Gershoniteª Laadan,ª chiefª fathers,ª [even] of Laadanª the Gershonite,ª [were] Jehieli.ª" {1Ch 26:21}

Laadan:
Laadan and Libni, seem to have been two distinct names of this person; but the variation of Shimi and Shimei exists only in the translation, the original being uniformly שׁמעי [Strong's H8096]. "The sonsª of Gershon;ª Libni,ª and Shimi,ª according to their families.ª" {Exd 6:17}, Libni, Shimi
