{1 Chronicles 22:8} But the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came x1961 to x5921 me, saying, 559 z8800 Thou hast shed 8210 z8804 blood 1818 abundantly, 7230 and hast made 6213 z8804 great 1419 wars: 4421 thou shalt not x3808 build 1129 z8799 an house 1004 unto my name, 8034 because x3588 thou hast shed 8210 z8804 much 7227 blood 1818 upon the earth 776 in my sight. 6440

Thou hast shed:
"But Godª saidª ° unto me, Thou shalt not¹ buildª ° an houseª for my name,ª because¹ thou¹ [hast been] a manª of war,ª and hast shedª ° blood.ª" {1Ch 28:3} + "And purifyª ° all¹ [your] raiment,ª and all¹ that is madeª of skins,ª and all¹ workª of goats'ª [hair], and all¹ things¹ made² of wood.ª" {Num 31:20} + "And ye shall washª ° your clothesª on the seventhª day,ª and ye shall be clean,ª ° and afterwardª ye shall comeª ° into¹ the camp.ª" {Num 31:24} + "Thou¹ knowestª ° how that¹ ¹ Davidª my fatherª couldª ° not¹ buildª ° an houseª unto the nameª of the LORDª his Godª forª ¹ the warsª which¹ were about him on every side,ª ° until¹ the LORDª putª ° them under¹ the solesª of his feet.ª" {1Kg 5:3}

thou shalt not:
"Go² °¹ and tellª °¹ Davidª my servant,ª Thus¹ saithª ° the LORD,ª Thou¹ shalt not¹ buildª ° me an houseª to dwell in:ª ° ... And since the timeª ¹ that¹ I commandedª ° judgesª ° [to be] over¹ my peopleª Israel.ª Moreover I will subdueª °¹ all¹ thine enemies.ª ° Furthermore I tellª ° thee that the LORDª will buildª ° thee an house.ª" {1Ch 17:4-10} + "Go² °¹ and tellª °¹ my servantª David,ª Thus¹ saithª ° the LORD,ª Shalt thou¹ buildª ° me an houseª for me to dwell¹ in?² ° ...
