with shouting:
"And Davidª spakeª° to the chiefª of the Levitesª to appointª°¹ their brethrenª [to be] the singersª° with instrumentsª of musick,ª psalteriesª and harpsª and cymbals,ª sounding,ª° by lifting upª° the voiceª with joy.ª" {1Ch 15:16} + "And Davidª and all¹ Israelª playedª° beforeª Godª with all¹ [their] might,ª and with singing,ª and with harps,ª and with psalteries,ª and with timbrels,ª and with cymbals,ª and with trumpets.ª" {1Ch 13:8} + "Also the Levitesª [which were] the singers,ª° all¹ of them of Asaph,ª of Heman,ª of Jeduthun,ª with their sonsª and their brethren,ª [being] arrayedª° in white linen,ª having cymbalsª and psalteriesª and harps,ª stoodª° at the east endª of the altar,ª and with¹ them an hundredª and twentyª priestsª soundingª° with trumpets:)ª ... the cornet:
Jerome on "Blowª° ye the cornetª in Gibeah,ª [and] the trumpetª in Ramah:ª cry aloudª° [at] Bethaven,ª afterª thee, O Benjamin.ª" {Hsa 5:8} says this instrument is properly called in Greek κερατινη, from κερας [Strong's G2768], a horn. The trumpets were, according to Josephus, made of metal, and about a cubit in length. See note on "Makeª° thee twoª trumpetsª of silver;ª of a whole pieceª shalt thou makeª° them: that thou mayest useª° them for the callingª of the assembly,ª and for the journeyingª¹ of the camps.ª" {Num 10:2}.
