{1 Chronicles 8:12} The sons 1121 of Elpaal; 508 Eber, 5677 and Misham, 4936 and Shamed, 8106 who x1931 built 1129 z8804 x853 Ono, 207 and Lod, 3850 with the towns 1323 thereof:

Ono:
Ono is stated by Reland to have been three miles from Lydda. "The childrenª of Lod,ª Hadid,ª and Ono,ª sevenª hundredª twentyª and five.ª" {Ezr 2:33} + "That Sanballatª and Geshemª sentª ° unto¹ me, saying,ª ° Come,² °¹ let us meetª ° togetherª in [some one of] the villagesª in the plainª of Ono.ª But they¹ thoughtª ° to doª ° me mischief.ª" {Neh 6:2} + "The childrenª of Lod,ª Hadid,ª and Ono,ª sevenª hundredª twentyª and one.ª" {Neh 7:37} + "Lod,ª and Ono,ª the valleyª of craftsmen.ª ² °" {Neh 11:35}

Lod:
Lod, or Lydda, was situated about four leagues from Joppa, and a day's journey, or about thirty-two miles nw from Jerusalem; and, according to the Antonine Itinerary, twelve miles from Jamnia, eighteen from Eleutheropolis, and twenty two from Bethar. Josephus says it was a village, not yielding to a city in greatness; and that it was one of three toparchies dismembered from Samaria, and given to the Jews. It was destroyed by Cesitus in the Jewish war, and, when rebuilt, was called Diospolis. It is now called Loudd, and is a poor village, situated in a fine plain about a league to the e-ne of Ramia.
