{1 Chronicles 5:22} For x3588 there fell y5307 z8804 down x5307 many 7227 slain, 2491 because x3588 the war 4421 [was] of God. 430 x4480 And they dwelt 3427 z8799 in their steads x8478 until x5704 the captivity. 1473

the war was of God:

they dwelt:
"And Mosesª gaveª ° unto them, [even] to the childrenª of Gad,ª and to the childrenª of Reuben,ª and unto halfª the tribeª of Manassehª the sonª of Joseph,ª ¹ the kingdomª of Sihonª kingª of the Amorites,ª and the kingdomª of Ogª kingª of Bashan,ª the land,ª with the citiesª thereof in the coasts,ª [even] the citiesª of the countryª round about.ª" {Num 32:33}

steads:
"And these¹ writtenª ° by nameª cameª ° in the daysª of Hezekiahª kingª of Judah,ª and smoteª °¹ their tents,ª and the habitationsª that¹ were foundª ° there,¹ and destroyed² ° them utterly¹ unto¹ this¹ day,ª and dweltª ° in their rooms:¹ because¹ [there was] pastureª there¹ for their flocks.ª" {1Ch 4:41}

until the captivity:
