the land:
"Then the fiveª men² ¹ departed,² °¹ and cameª ° to Laish,ª and sawª °¹ the peopleª that¹ [were] therein,ª how they dweltª ° careless,ª after the mannerª of the Zidonians,ª quietª ° and secure;ª ° and [there was] no¹ magistrateª ª ° in the land,ª that might put [them] to shameª ° in [any] thing;ª and they¹ [were] farª from the Zidonians,ª ¹ and had no¹ businessª with¹ [any] man.ª ... Ham:
