the scribes:
"This¹ Ezraª went upª ° from Babylon;ª ¹ and he¹ [was] a readyª scribeª ° in the lawª of Moses,ª which¹ the LORDª Godª of Israelª had given:ª ° and the kingª grantedª ° him all¹ his request,ª according to the handª of the LORDª his Godª upon¹ him." {Ezr 7:6} + "How¹ do ye say,ª ° We¹ [are] wise,ª and the lawª of the LORDª [is] with¹ us? Lo,¹ certainlyª in vainª madeª ° he [it]; the penª of the scribesª ° [is] in vain.ª" {Jer 8:8}

Jabez:
"And Jabezª was¹ more honourableª ° than his brethren:ª ¹ and his motherª calledª ° his nameª Jabez,ª saying,ª ° Because¹ I bareª ° him with sorrow.ª ... And Jabezª calledª ° on the Godª of Israel,ª saying,ª ° Oh thatª thou wouldest bless² ° me indeed,ª ° and enlargeª °¹ my coast,ª and that thine handª might be¹ with¹ me, and that thou wouldest keepª ° [me] from¹ evil,ª that it may not¹ grieveª ° me! Kenites:
