- It appears from the parallel places of Samuel, that Jesse had eight sons, of whom David was the eighth and youngest; but one may have died before David came to the throne. "Again, Jesseª made sevenª of his sonsª to passª° beforeª Samuel.ª And Samuelª saidª° unto¹ Jesse,ª The LORDª hath not¹ chosenª° these.¹ ...
