This day:
"Thus¹ saithª ° the king,ª Let not¹ Hezekiahª deceiveª ° you: for¹ he shall not¹ be ableª ° to deliverª ° you out of his hand:ª ¹" {2Kg 18:29} + "When thou with rebukesª dost correctª ° manª for¹ iniquity,ª thou makest his beautyª ° to consume awayª ° like a moth:ª surely¹ every¹ manª [is] vanity.ª Selah.ª" {Psa 39:11} + "Have mercy² ° upon¹ us, O LORD,ª have mercy² ° upon¹ us: for¹ we are exceedinglyª filledª ° with contempt.ª ... blasphemy:
or, provocation, "Hardenª ° not¹ your heart,ª as in the provocation,ª [and] as [in] the dayª of temptationª in the wilderness:ª" {Psa 95:8} + "While² it is said,ª ° To dayª ifª ye will hearª ° hisª voice,ª hardenª ° notª yourª hearts,ª asª inª the¹ provocation.ª ... Forª some,ª when they had heard,ª ° did provoke:ª ° howbeitª notª allª that cameª ° out ofª Egyptª byª Moses.ª" {Hbr 3:15-16}

for the children:
"Like² as¹ a woman with child,ª [that] draweth nearª ° the time of her delivery,ª ° is in pain,ª ° [and] crieth outª ° in her pangs;ª so¹ have we been¹ in thy sight,ª ¹ O LORD.ª ...
