burnt:
"And, behold,¹ there cameª ° a manª of Godª out of Judahª ¹ by the wordª of the LORDª unto¹ Bethel:ª and Jeroboamª stoodª ° by¹ the altarª to burn incense.ª °" {1Kg 13:1} + "And in every¹ several cityª of Judahª he madeª ° high placesª to burn incenseª ° unto otherª gods,ª and provoked to angerª °¹ the LORDª Godª of his fathers.ª" {2Ch 28:25} + "But¹ we will certainly² ° doª °¹ whatsoever¹ ¹ thingª goeth forthª ° out of our own mouth,ª ¹ to burn incenseª ° unto the queenª of heaven,ª and to pour outª ° drink offeringsª unto her, as¹ we have done,ª ° we,¹ and our fathers,ª our kings,ª and our princes,ª in the citiesª of Judah,ª and in the streetsª of Jerusalem:ª for [then] had we plentyª ° of victuals,ª and were¹ well,ª and sawª ° no¹ evil.ª" {Jer 44:17}

to provoke:
"And he made¹ his sonª pass² ° through¹ the fire,ª and observed times,ª ° and used enchantments,ª ° and dealtª ° with familiar spiritsª and wizards:ª he wroughtª ° muchª ° wickednessª in the sightª of the LORD,ª to provoke [him] to anger.ª °" {2Kg 21:6} + "Yet they temptedª ° and provokedª °¹ the most highª God,ª and keptª ° not¹ his testimonies:ª ... For they provoked him to angerª ° with their high places,ª and moved him to jealousyª ° with their graven images.ª" {Psa 78:56-58}
