Then Elisha 477 said, 559 z8799 Shoot. 3384 z8798 And he shot. 3384 z8686 And he said, 559 z8799 The arrow 2671 of the LORD'S 3068 deliverance, 8668 and the arrow 2671 of deliverance 8668 from Syria: 758 for thou shalt smite 5221 z8689 x853 the Syrians 758 in Aphek, 663 till x5704 thou have consumed 3615 z8763 [them].

Open:

The arrow:
This was a symbolical action, indicative of the deliverance of Israel from Syria. It was an ancient custom to shoot an arrow or cast a spear into a country before the commencement of hostilities. "And the LORDª saidª ° unto¹ him, What [is] that¹ ¹ in thine hand?ª And he said,ª ° A rod.ª" {Exd 4:2} + "And thou shalt takeª ° this¹ rodª in thine hand,ª wherewith¹ thou shalt doª °¹ signs.ª" {Exd 4:17} + "And it came to pass¹ the same¹ night,ª that the LORDª saidª ° unto¹ him, Arise,ª ° get thee downª ° unto the host;ª for¹ I have deliveredª ° it into thine hand.ª ...
