he brought:
"But Jehosheba,ª the daughterª of kingª Joram,ª sisterª of Ahaziah,ª tookª °¹ Joashª the sonª of Ahaziah,ª and stoleª ° him from amongª ¹ the king'sª sonsª [which were] slain;ª ° and they hidª ° him, [even] him and his nurse,ª ° in the bedchamberª ª fromª ¹ Athaliah,ª so that he was not¹ slain.ª °" {2Kg 11:2} + "And the seventhª yearª Jehoiadaª sentª ° and fetchedª °¹ the rulersª over hundreds,ª with the captainsª and the guard,ª ° and broughtª ° them to¹ him into the houseª of the LORD,ª and madeª ° a covenantª with them, and took an oathª ° of them in the houseª of the LORD,ª and shewedª ° them¹ the king'sª son.ª" {2Kg 11:4} + "Then they brought outª °¹ the king'sª son,ª and putª ° upon¹ him¹ the crown,ª and [gave him] the testimony,ª and made him king.ª °¹ And Jehoiadaª and his sonsª anointedª ° him, and said,ª ° God saveª ° the king.ª" {2Ch 23:11}

put the crown:

the testimony:

and they clapped:
Wyyakkoo kaph, "they clapped the hand," which Mr. Harmer thinks was similar to the mode in which Oriental females express their respect for persons of high rank, by gently applying one of their hands to their mouth. So Pitts relates, that in some of the towns of Barbary, the leaders of the sacred caravan being received with loud acclamations, "the very women get upon the tops of the houses to view the parade, or fine show, where they keep striking their four fingers on their lips, as fast as they can, making a joyful noise all the while." "[[To the chief Musician,ª ° A Psalmª for the sonsª of Korah.]]ª O clapª ° your hands,ª all¹ ye people;ª shoutª ° unto Godª with the voiceª of triumph.ª" {Psa 47:1} + "Let the floodsª clapª ° [their] hands:ª let the hillsª be joyfulª ° togetherª" {Psa 98:8} + "For¹ ye shall go outª ° with joy,ª and be led forthª ° with peace:ª the mountainsª and the hillsª shall break forthª ° beforeª you into singing,ª and all¹ the treesª of the fieldª shall clapª ° [their] hands.ª" {Isa 55:12}
