Take:
"And Davidª saidª ° to¹ Abishai,ª Now¹ shall Shebaª the sonª of Bichriª do us more harmª ° than¹ [did] Absalom:ª takeª ° thou¹ ¹ thy lord'sª servants,ª and pursueª ° afterª him, lest¹ he getª ° him fencedª ° cities,ª and escapeª °¹ us.²" {2Sm 20:6}

and cause:
Maimonides informs us, that it was a capital offence for any one to ride on the king's mule, to sit on his throne, or to handle his sceptre, without permission; and as David ordered Solomon to ride on his own mule, etc., it was ample evidence that he had appointed him his successor.

to ride:
"Then Adonijahª the sonª of Haggithª exalted² ° himself,¹ saying,ª ° I¹ will be king:ª ° and he preparedª ° him chariotsª and horsemen,ª and fiftyª menª to runª ° beforeª him." {1Kg 1:5} + "So Zadokª the priest,ª and Nathanª the prophet,ª and Benaiahª the sonª of Jehoiada,ª and the Cherethites,ª and the Pelethites,ª went down,ª ° and caused¹ Solomonª to rideª ° upon¹ kingª David'sª mule,ª and brought² °¹ him to¹ Gihon.ª" {1Kg 1:38} + "And the kingª hath sentª ° with¹ him¹ Zadokª the priest,ª and Nathanª the prophet,ª and Benaiahª the sonª of Jehoiada,ª and the Cherethites,ª and the Pelethites,ª and they have caused him to rideª °¹ upon¹ the king'sª mule:ª" {1Kg 1:44} + "And he made him to rideª ° in the secondª chariotª which¹ he had; and they criedª ° before¹ him,² Bow the knee:ª and he madeª ° him [ruler] over¹ all¹ the landª of Egypt.ª" {Gen 41:43} + "So Hamanª came in.ª ° And the kingª saidª ° unto him, What¹ shall be doneª ° unto the manª whom¹ the kingª delightethª ° to honour?ª Now Hamanª thoughtª ° in his heart,ª To whom¹ would the kingª delightª ° to doª ° honourª more² than¹ to¹ myself? ... mine own mule:
Heb. the mule which belongeth to me, "Ye shall keepª °¹ my statutes.ª Thou shalt not¹ let thy cattleª genderª ° with a diverse kind:ª thou shalt not¹ sowª ° thy fieldª with mingled seed:ª neither¹ shall a garmentª mingledª of linen and woollenª comeª ° upon¹ thee." {Lev 19:19}

Gihon:
"So Zadokª the priest,ª and Nathanª the prophet,ª and Benaiahª the sonª of Jehoiada,ª and the Cherethites,ª and the Pelethites,ª went down,ª ° and caused¹ Solomonª to rideª ° upon¹ kingª David'sª mule,ª and brought² °¹ him to¹ Gihon.ª" {1Kg 1:38} + "And Zadokª the priestª and Nathanª the prophetª have anointedª ° him kingª in Gihon:ª and they are come upª ° from thence¹ ¹ rejoicing,ª so that the cityª rang¹ again.² ° This¹ [is] the noiseª that¹ ye have heard.ª °" {1Kg 1:45} + "This same¹ Hezekiahª also stoppedª °¹ the upperª watercourseª ª of Gihon,ª and brought it straightª ° downª to the west sideª of the cityª of David.ª And Hezekiahª prosperedª ° in all¹ his works.ª" {2Ch 32:30}
