a goodly man:
Heb. a man of countenance, or sight, called, "And he¹ slewª °¹ an Egyptian,ª ¹ a manª of [great] stature,ª fiveª cubitsª high; and in the Egyptian'sª handª [was] a spearª like a weaver'sª ° beam;ª and he went downª ° to¹ him with a staff,ª and pluckedª °¹ the spearª out of the Egyptian's² hand,ª ¹ ¹ and slewª ° him with his own spear.ª" {1Ch 11:23}, a man of great stature

slew him:
