And the womenª answeredª° [one another] as they played,ª° and said,ª° Saulª hath slainª° his thousands,ª and Davidª his ten thousands.ª" {1Sm 18:5-7} + "And Saulª said,ª° Thus¹ shall ye sayª° to David,ª The kingª desirethª not¹ any dowry,ª but¹ an hundredª foreskinsª of the Philistines,ª to be avengedª° of the king'sª enemies.ª° But Saulª thoughtª° to make¹ Davidª fallª° by the handª of the Philistines.ª" {1Sm 18:25} + "For he did putª°¹ his lifeª in his hand,ª and slewª°¹ the Philistine,ª and the LORDª wroughtª° a greatª salvationª for all¹ Israel:ª thou sawestª° [it], and didst rejoice:ª° wherefore¹ then wilt thou sinª° against innocentª blood,ª to slayª°¹ Davidª without a cause?ª" {1Sm 19:5}
