he did eat:
"And Davidª saidª ° unto him, Fearª ° not:¹ for¹ I will surely² ° shewª °¹ thee kindnessª for Jonathanª thy father'sª sake,¹ and will restoreª ° thee¹ all¹ the landª of Saulª thy father;ª and thou¹ shalt eatª ° breadª at¹ my tableª continually.ª" {2Sm 9:7} + "Thou¹ therefore, and thy sons,ª and thy servants,ª shall tillª °¹ the landª for him, and thou shalt bringª ° in [the fruits], that thy master'sª sonª may have¹ foodª to eat:ª ° but Mephiboshethª thy master'sª sonª shall eatª ° breadª alwayª at¹ my table.ª Now Zibaª had fifteenª ª sonsª and twentyª servants.ª ...
