as the LORD[YHWH] liveth:
"For in very deed,ª [as] the LORDª Godª of Israelª liveth,ª which¹ hath kept me backª ° from hurtingª °¹ thee, exceptª ¹ thou hadst hastedª ° and comeª ° to meetª ° me, surely¹ there had not¹ been leftª ° unto Nabalª by¹ the morningª lightª any that pissethª ° against the wall.ª" {1Sm 25:34} + "And Davidª went² °¹ thence¹ ¹ to Mizpehª of Moab:ª and he saidª ° unto¹ the kingª of Moab,ª Let my fatherª and my mother,ª I pray thee,¹ come forth,ª ° [and be] with¹ you, till¹ ¹ I knowª ° what¹ Godª will doª ° for me." {1Sm 22:3} + "And Elijahª saidª ° unto¹ Elisha,ª Tarryª ° here,¹ I pray thee;¹ for¹ the LORDª hath sentª ° me to¹ Bethel.ª And Elishaª saidª ° [unto him, As] the LORDª liveth,ª and [as] thy soulª liveth,ª I will not¹ leaveª ° thee. and as thy:
"And she said,ª ° Ohª my lord,ª [as] thy soulª liveth,ª my lord,ª I¹ [am] the womanª that stoodª ° by¹ thee here,¹ prayingª ° unto¹ the LORD.ª" {1Sm 1:26}

the LORD[YHWH] hath:
"And blessedª ° [be] thy advice,ª and blessedª ° [be] thou,¹ which¹ hast keptª ° me this¹ dayª from comingª °¹ to [shed] blood,ª and from avengingª ° myself with mine own hand.ª" {1Sm 25:33} + "And Godª saidª ° unto¹ him in a dream,ª Yea,ª I¹ knowª ° that¹ thou didstª ° this¹ in the integrityª of thy heart;ª for I¹ also¹ withheldª ° thee from sinningª °¹ against me: therefore¹ ¹ sufferedª ° I thee not¹ to touchª °¹ her." {Gen 20:6}

avenging thyself:
Heb. saving thyself, "[It is] Godª that avengethª ª ° me, and subduethª ° the peopleª under¹ me. ... He deliverethª ° me from mine enemies:ª °¹ yea,¹ thou liftest me upª ° above¹ those that rise upª ° against me: thou hast deliveredª ° me from the violentª man.ª ¹" {Psa 18:47-48} + "For¹ they got² ° not¹ the landª in possessionª ° by their own sword,ª neither¹ did their own armª saveª ° them: but¹ thy right hand,ª and thine arm,ª and the lightª of thy countenance,ª because¹ thou hadst a favourª ° unto them." {Psa 44:3}
