- This place was probably situated in the tribe of Dan. Josephus calls it Κορραιοι the LXX Βαιθχορ Targum, Betḣsaron; Syriac and Arabic Betḣjasan; by which Houbigant supposes is meant Beth-shan. "And the men²¹ of Israelª went outª° of¹ Mizpeh,ª and pursuedª°¹ the Philistines,ª and smoteª° them, until¹ [they came] under¹¹ Bethcar.ª" {1Sm 7:11}
