Literally, "the lord of the covenant." "And they gaveª ° him threescore and tenª [pieces] of silverª out of the houseª ¹ of Baalberith,ª wherewith Abimelechª hiredª ° vainª and lightª ° persons,² ¹ which followed² °¹ ¹ him.²" {Jdg 9:4} + "And when all¹ the menª of the towerª of Shechemª heardª ° [that], they enteredª ° into¹ an holdª of the houseª of the godª Berith.ª" {Jdg 9:46}
