Curse ye:
"Now¹ therefore, I pray thee,¹ let my lordª the kingª hearª °¹ the wordsª of his servant.ª If¹ the LORDª have stirred thee upª ° against me, let him acceptª ° an offering:ª but if¹ [they be] the childrenª of men,ª cursedª ° [be] they¹ beforeª the LORD;ª for¹ they have driven² ° me out¹ this dayª from abidingª °¹ in the inheritanceª of the LORD,ª saying,ª ° Go,² °¹ serveª ° otherª gods.ª" {1Sm 26:19} + "Cursedª ° [be] he that doethª ° the workª of the LORDª deceitfully,ª and cursedª ° [be] he that keepeth backª ° his swordª from blood.ª ¹" {Jer 48:10} + "If any manª loveª ° notª the¹ Lordª Jesusª Christ,ª let him beª ° Anathemaª Maranatha.ª" {1Co 16:22}

Meroz:
This city of Meroz seems to have been, at this time, a place of considerable importance, since something great was expected from it; but probably, after the angel of the Lord had pronounced this curse, it dwindled and like the fig-tree which Christ cursed, withered away; so that we never read of it after this in Scripture.

the angel:

they came:
"For the peopleª were numbered,ª ° and, behold,¹ [there were] noneª ¹ of the inhabitantsª °¹ of Jabeshgileadª ª there.¹ ... And the congregationª sentª ° thither¹ twelveª ª thousandª menª of the valiantest,ª ª ¹ and commandedª ° them, saying,ª ° Go² °¹ and smiteª °¹ the inhabitantsª ° of Jabeshgileadª ª with the edgeª of the sword,ª with the womenª and the children.ª" {Jdg 21:9-10} + "And next¹ unto¹ them² the Tekoitesª repaired;ª ° but their noblesª putª ° not¹ their necksª to the workª of their Lord.ª" {Neh 3:5}

to the help:
