- in the places:
- Dr. Shaw mentions a beautiful rill of water in Barbary, which runs into a large bason, called shrub we krub, "drink and be off," because of the danger of meeting with robbers and assassins in this place, who fall upon those who come to drink. "And the herdmenª° of Gerarª did striveª° with¹ Isaac'sª herdmen,ª° saying,ª° The waterª [is] ours: and he calledª° the nameª of the wellª Esek;ª because¹ they stroveª° with¹ him. ... And he removedª° from thence,¹¹ and diggedª° anotherª well;ª and for¹ that they stroveª° not:¹ and he calledª° the name¹ of it² Rehoboth;ª and he said,ª° For¹ nowª the LORDª hath made roomª° for us, and we shall be fruitfulª° in the land.ª" {Gen 26:20-22} + "And the shepherdsª° cameª° and drove them away:ª° but Mosesª stood upª° and helpedª° them, and wateredª°¹ their flock.ª ... And they said,ª° An Egyptianªª deliveredª° us out of the handª¹ of the shepherds,ª° and also¹ drew²° [water] enoughª° for us, and wateredª°¹ the flock.ª" {Exd 2:17-19} + "Therefore with joyª shall ye drawª° waterª out of the wellsª¹ of salvation.ª" {Isa 12:3}
