Shaalabbin:
Eusebius calls it Σαλαβα, and places it in Samaria, and Jerome calls it Salebi ("Now these¹ [are] the namesª of the tribes.ª From the northª endª ¹ to¹ the coastª of the wayª of Hethlon,ª as one goethª ° to Hamath,ª Hazarenan,ª the borderª of Damascusª northward,ª to¹ the coastª of Hamath;ª for these are¹ his sidesª eastª [and] west;ª aª [portion for] Dan.ª ... [It was] round aboutª eighteenª ª thousandª [measures]: and the nameª of the cityª from [that] dayª ¹ [shall be], The LORD¹ [is] there.² ¹" {Ezk 48:1-35}), and joins it to Ajalon and Emmaus. Ajalon:
This appears to be the Ajalon which Jerome places two miles from Nicopolis or Emmaus, in the road to Jerusalem. "Then¹ spakeª ° Joshuaª to the LORDª in the dayª when the LORDª delivered upª °¹ the Amoritesª beforeª the childrenª of Israel,ª and he saidª ° in the sightª of Israel,ª Sun,ª stand thou stillª ° upon Gibeon;ª and thou, Moon,ª in the valleyª of Ajalon.ª" {Jsh 10:12} + "¹ Aijalonª with¹ her suburbs,ª ¹ Gathrimmonª with¹ her suburbs;ª fourª cities.ª" {Jsh 21:24} + "And they smoteª ° the Philistinesª that¹ dayª from Michmashª ¹ to Aijalon:ª and the peopleª were veryª faint.² °¹" {1Sm 14:31}
