Manasseh:
"And the separateª citiesª for the childrenª of Ephraimª [were] amongª the inheritanceª of the childrenª of Manasseh,ª all¹ the citiesª with their villages.ª" {Jsh 16:9} + "And by¹ the bordersª of the childrenª of Manasseh,ª Bethsheanª and her towns,ª Taanachª and her towns,ª Megiddoª and her towns,ª Dorª and her towns.ª In these¹ dweltª ° the childrenª of Josephª the sonª of Israel.ª" {1Ch 7:29}; Beth-shean, the Scythopolis of the Greek and Roman writers, was situated in the plain of Jordan, west of that river, 120 furlongs (south) from Tiberias, according to Josephus, and 600 furlongs (north) from Jerusalem (2 Maccabees 12:29). It was the largest city of the Decapolis, and the only one on that side of Jordan. It is now called Bisan, 8 hours or 24 miles from Tiberias; and described by Dr. Richardson, exclusive of its ruins, as a "collection of miserable hovels, containing 200 inhabitants." Dor:
Dor, according to Eusebius, was situated on the Mediterranean, nine miles from Cesarea Palestine, towards Carmel. The village of Tortura, four leagues north of Cesarea, is supposed to nearly occupy it site. "The kingª of Dorª in the coastª of Dor,ª one;ª the kingª of the nationsª of Gilgal,ª one;ª" {Jsh 12:23} + "Neither¹ did Manassehª drive outª °¹ [the inhabitants of] Bethsheanª and her towns,ª nor Taanachª and her towns,ª nor the inhabitantsª ° of Dorª and her towns,ª nor the inhabitantsª ° of Ibleamª and her towns,ª nor the inhabitantsª ° of Megiddoª and her towns:ª but the Canaanitesª wouldª ° dwellª ° in that¹ land.ª" {Jdg 1:27} + "The son of Abinadab,ª in all¹ the regionª of Dor;ª which had Taphathª the daughterª of Solomonª to wife:ª" {1Kg 4:11}

Endor:
"Then saidª ° Saulª unto his servants,ª Seekª ° me a womanª that hathª a familiar spirit,ª that I may go² °¹ to¹ her, and enquireª ° of her. Megiddo:
