{Joshua 17:9} And the coast 1366 descended 3381 z8804 unto the river 5158 Kanah, 7071 southward 5045 of the river: 5158 these x428 cities 5892 of Ephraim 669 [are] among 8432 the cities 5892 of Manasseh: 4519 the coast 1366 of Manasseh 4519 also [was] on the north side 6828 x4480 of the river, 5158 and the outgoings 8444 of it were x1961 at the sea: 3220

river Kanah:
or, brook of reeds, The brook Kanah seem to be what is now called Nahr el Kasab, which falls into the Mediterranean a few miles south of Cesarea of Palestine, mentioned by the Hon. C. L. Irby, and J. Mangles. "The borderª went out² °¹ from Tappuahª ¹ westwardª unto the riverª Kanah;ª and the goings outª thereof were¹ at the sea.ª This¹ [is] the inheritanceª of the tribeª of the childrenª of Ephraimª by their families.ª" {Jsh 16:8}

these cities:
"And the separateª citiesª for the childrenª of Ephraimª [were] amongª the inheritanceª of the childrenª of Manasseh,ª all¹ the citiesª with their villages.ª" {Jsh 16:9}

the outgoings:
"And goeth downª ° westwardª to¹ the coastª of Japhleti,ª unto¹ the coastª of Bethhoronª the nether,ª and to¹ Gezer:ª and the goings outª thereof are¹ at the sea.ª" {Jsh 16:3} + "The borderª went out² °¹ from Tappuahª ¹ westwardª unto the riverª Kanah;ª and the goings outª thereof were¹ at the sea.ª This¹ [is] the inheritanceª of the tribeª of the childrenª of Ephraimª by their families.ª" {Jsh 16:8} + "And [then] the coastª turnethª ° to Ramah,ª and to¹ the strongª cityª Tyre;ª and the coastª turnethª ° to Hosah;ª and the outgoingsª thereof are¹ at the seaª from the coastª ¹ to Achzib:ª" {Jsh 19:29}
