- Eshtaol:
- This town is placed by Eusebius ten mile from Eleutheropolis, towards Nicopolis, and it is supposed to be a wretched village, called Esdad, about 15 miles south of Yebna. "And the coastª of their inheritanceª was¹ Zorah,ª and Eshtaol,ª and Irshemesh,ª" {Jsh 19:41} + "And they cameª° unto¹ the brookª of Eshcol,ª and cut downª° from thence¹¹ a branchª with oneª clusterª of grapes,ª and they bareª° it between twoª upon a staff;ª and [they brought] of¹ the pomegranates,ª and of¹ the figs.ª" {Num 13:23} + "And the Spiritª of the LORDª beganª° to move¹ him at times²° in the campª of Danª between¹ Zorahª and Eshtaol.ª" {Jdg 13:25} + "Then his brethrenª and all¹ the houseª of his fatherª came down,ª° and tookª° him, and brought [him] up,ª° and buriedª° him between¹ Zorahª and Eshtaolª in the buryingplaceª of Manoahª his father.ª And he¹ judgedª°¹ Israelª twentyª years.ª" {Jdg 16:31}
