- Hazor:
- Or, rather, Hazar-hadattah, or, as the LXX, Alexandrian, and Vulgate render Ασωρ η καινη, Asor nova, "New Hazor," to distinguish it from the preceding ("And Hazarshual,ª and Beersheba,ª and Bizjothjah,ª" {Jsh 15:28}), and following Hazor. Eusebius and Jerome say it was a village in their time, on the eastern confines of Askelon.
