- Bethhogla:
- Probably the Bethagla mentioned by Jerome is the same as the "threshing-floor of Atad," ("And they cameª° to¹ the threshingfloorª of Atad,ª which¹ [is] beyondª Jordan,ª and there¹ they mournedª° with a greatª and veryª soreª lamentation:ª and he madeª° a mourningª for his fatherª sevenª days.ª" {Gen 50:10}), situated three miles from Jericho, and two from Jordan; and belonging to the tribe of Benjamin, though serving as a frontier to the tribe of Judah. "And the borderª passed alongª° to¹ the sideª of Bethhoglahª northward:ª and the outgoingsª of the borderª were¹ at¹ the northª bayª of the saltª seaª at¹ the southª endª of Jordan:ª this¹ [was] the southª coast.ª ... And Jordanª was the borderª° of it on the eastª side.ª This¹ [was] the inheritanceª of the childrenª of Benjamin,ª by the coastsª thereof round about,ª according to their families.ª" {Jsh 18:19-20}
